The Wall – a time Capsule

The consumer society in this “Age of Plenty” has lost the connection to Nature and to the Source of Plenty, but every object bears a charge and memory of the transformation it underwent from source to end-user as a consumer good. For a long time I used to collect objects. Objects that had lost their value and outlived their usefulness to become trash.

I poured concrete mixture into molds, stuck objects into them, carved in the cement, added some weight on top of light objects (to prevent them from bouncing out), and looked carefully at what remained in view and what disappeared. These were the “building blocks”. From the blocks I build a wall from which evidence and remnants of life peek out, protruding from the surface.
